Do you all know what tomorrow is?! It’s #WaffleWednesday! I was asked to share a recipe for a WW point-friendly waffle and after a little bit of recipe testing I created a simple 3 point waffle. The waffle is 3 WW SmartPoints on both the Blue and Green plans. The best part? The recipe is for one single waffle and if you want more you can simply multiple the recipe. Plus it takes just a few ingredients and they’re ones I always have on hand! Now that you have a good basic waffle you can have fun coming up with delicious topping combos! I topped this one with a batch of my Oooey Gooey Microwave Apples, a drizzle of RX Maple Almond Butter, and a little bit of Joseph’s Sugar Free Syrup.
Topping combos are endless but here’s a few of my favorite combos:
- Strawberry Shortcake – use almond extract and top with sliced strawberries, almonds, and FF Reddiwhip
- Blueberry Almond – use almond extract and top with blueberries and almonds
- Apple Pecan – add extra cinnamon and top with a batch of my Ooey Gooey Apples and pecan pieces
- Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chip, Banana – top with melted Jif Whips Peanut butter, sliced banana, and Lily’s Chocolate Chips
- Strawberry Chocolate Chip – top with sliced strawberries and Lily’s Chocolate Chips
- Elvis Waffle – Top with a piece of crumbled bacon, sliced banana, and melted Jif Whips Peanut Butter. This is one of my ALL TIME favorites….trust me on this one!
- Sweet and Savory Waffle – top with crumbled turkey sausage (you can also mix the crumbles directly into the batter!), crumbled bacon, or your favorite pre-cooked chicken sausage then add an egg and hot sauce
- Chicken and Waffles – top with oven baked or air-fryer chicken (You can use this recipe for chicken and leave out the taco seasoning).
- Apple Strudel – top with a batch of my Ooey Gooey Apples and your favorite granola
- Peanut Butter Maple – this is the combo I grew up eating! Simply add your favorite peanut butter and maple syrup. I use Jif Whips and Jospeh’s Syrup.
What are your favorite waffle toppings?! Share them in the comment section below!
